An alle Schauspieler und Regisseure: Am 4. und 5. Juli organisiert Corinna-A. von Giese einen kostenpflichtigen Workshop mit Mark Travis (s.u.), der für engagiert und Schauspieler und Regisseure interessant und möglicherweise lohnenswert klingt (v.a. in puncto Zusammenarbeit Regie-Schauspiel, aus-der-anderen-Perspektive-Denken), deshalb hier die Erwähnung auf hackermovies.

Mark ist Autor, Regisseur und Produzent aus den USA und kommt für ein paar Tage nach München. Er studierte an der Yale School of Drama. In den letzten 20 Jahren führte er bei über 60 Theaterproduktionen in Los Angeles and New York Regie (u.a. A Bronx Tale, Undressing New Jersey, Faithful, Once A Man Twice A Boy, Time Flies When You’re Alive, Cafe 50’s, No Place Like Home, Equus, Wings, TheComing of Stork, Linke vs. Redfield, Verdigris und The Lion In Winter). Er doziert am American Film Institute, UCLA, The Binger Institute Amsterdam, Pixar University, FAS Screen Training Ireland, HSU Kiev und der Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München. THE ACTOR’S BOOT CAMP Actor’s training prepares them for script analysis and character development along with a variety of techniques that can bring the actor closer to the physical and emotional truth of the character. But, unfortunately, most actors are not prepared or trained to deal with three of most consistent and perplexing obstacles that an actor has to face. Namely:

• a script is either incomprehensible or presents no clues to character or event.
• a scene partner that is inexperienced, uncooperative or inflexible..
• and (the most serious and problematic) a director who is unclear, unsupportive, can’t communicate or is totally unavailable.

This is where the Actor’s Boot Camp comes in. The Actor’s Boot Camp is designed to give actors the specific skills they need to address all three of these problems. In essence, skilled actors learn how to find directorial solutions to these problems: how to make weak material work, how to direct themselves and even how to direct others (their scene partners) in an appropriate and non-threatening manner.

The Actor’s Boot Camp covers:

1. Script analysis (from a director’s point of view)
2. Character design and definition (from limited material)
3. Creating objectives and obstacles that enhance the scene
4. Staging and self-staging in order to stimulate your character and others
5. Communication and skills with directors and actors that are non-threatening
6. Audition techniques that generate immediately results
7. The Actor/Character Split
8. The Actor/Character Meld
9. The collaborative process between directors, actors and the script

When actors learn to think like directors (solving problems rather than being crippled by them) then they can take more control of their craft.

Der WS findet am Samstag den 4. Juli und Sonntag den 5. Juli in den Räumen der Pasinger Fabrik von 9:00-17:00h statt und kostet 300€. Es können 15 Schauspieler und 5 Regisseure teilnehmen. Die Schauspieler werden unter den Regisseuren aufgeteilt, bekommen ihre Szenen und werden damit arbeiten.
